Motorycle crash kills Ross County man

A motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet was killed early Saturday morning when his motorcycle struck a deer. Killed was Paul Cooper, 34 of Frankfort, Ohio. The Portsmouth Dispatch Center of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received the report of a single motorcycle crash on Little Creek Road south of Frankfort in Ross County at around 4:06 a.m.

According to the report, a 2010 Honda motorcycle operated by Cooper, was traveling westbound on Little Creek Road when it struck a deer. Cooper was not wearing a helmet at the time and he was thrown from the motorcycle

Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene by Assistant Coroner Mark Gray. Concord Township Fire & EMS personnel responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

The OSHP encourages motorcyclists to wear head protecting equipment.
