Tyler Lewis faces two counts of attempted murder

Tyler Jammer “Smoke” Lewis, 24, of Dayton, currently serving a sentence on an unrelated charge in the Lebanon Correctional Institution, has been indicted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of having weapons while under disability.

According to Portsmouth Police, the shooting took place on March 3 on Argronne Road. The two victims were identified as Thomas Logan, 55, and Charles Taylor, 48, both of Portsmouth. The victims were originally transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center by ambulance and later transferred to an area trauma center for additional treatment of their injuries. which was not believed to be life threatening.

Officers from the Portsmouth Police Department with the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) were involved in investigating the shooting. Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said officers were dispatched to a shooting incident and officers said when they arrived at the scene they located two male gunshot victims.

Ware said Lewis was on parole from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections at the time, having served time for previous offenses of aggravated robbery and felonious assault.
