Woman, two children injured in crash

LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. — According to reports from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, a two-vehicle crash sent a woman and two children to a hospital on Tuesday.

Reports reveal that accident occurred when a tractor-trailer rear-ended a car waiting to turn off the AA Highway near Charters. The two children were airlifted to a hospital in the Huntington, W. Va., area. Joyce Cooley, 40, of Vanceburg, Ky., was a passenger in the car, was transported to a hospital in Portsmouth.

The driver of the car and the tractor trailer were not seriously injured, according to reports. The crash remains under investigation.
