Man wanted in connection with weekend burglary

Portsmouth Police Department is looking for an individual who may have information regarding a burglary that took place Saturday afternoon on Lincoln Street in Portsmouth.


The Portsmouth Police Department (PPD) has potentially caught crime on camera. Now they are asking for the assistance of the community in apprehending the suspect involved in the crime.

Monday morning, PPD posted a photo of a young man with dark brown hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a dark red or burgundy hood and a pair of tan or grey pants and black and white Nike tennis shoes with the caption, “You never know who’s watching …. We would like to talk to this individual about a weekend burglary. Do you know him?”

PPD Chief Robert Ware explained that the man is wanted for information about a crime that was committed during daylight hours.

“We are attempting to locate that individual in relation to a daytime burglary that occurred Saturday afternoon in the 1300 block of Lincoln Street,” Ware stated.

A photo of the man is being circulated on social media and can be accessed by visiting the PPD’s Facebook page.

Anyone with information about the individual can call the PPD Detective Division at 740-354-1600.
