The Villiage of New Boston is excited about the posibilities for a the newly opened seafood restaraunt located in the Village’s downtown. The new business is offering seafood from the location but with a wider variety than offered locally and an upscale seafood dining experience.

Shrimpy Joe’s Seafood Restaurant is officially open in New Boston. The restaurant invited the community out for a celebratory ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony on Thursday.

New Boston Village Mayor William (Junior) Williams, New Boston Village Council Members and other members of New Boston Village staff and employees gathered at the ceremony honoring the opening of the new business. They were joined by Lisa Carver from the Scioto County Chamber of Commerce and Shrimpy Joe’s owner Russ Stanley. According to Stanely, Shrimpy Joe’s has already been open approximately three months.

Stanley explained that he has seven employees that work hard to serve everything from fish to beef to chicken. Though he had additional staffing upon opening, that staffing has reduced slightly.

“We’ve got a wide variety of seafood,” Stanely stated. “It’s a big menu. If Red Lobster’s got it, we’ve got it.”

Menu items include many types of fish and seafood including calamari, cod fish and even frog legs. Shrimpy Joe’s also offers prime rib, chicken breast dinners and a variety of sandwiches.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays at its location at 3210 Rhodes Ave.

Mayor Williams stated that the Village appreciates the investment of such a great business into the area.
