Community Health Accreditation Partner, Inc., (CHAP) announced today that Unity 1 Skilled Home Care, Inc. has been awarded CHAP Accreditation under the CHAP Home Health Care Standards of Excellence. By achieving CHAP

Accreditation, Unity 1 Skilled Home Care has also been deemed to meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and is certified as a medicare provider.

The Community Health Accreditation Program continues to be the accreditation partner of choice for the largest number of home and community-based health care providers in both the Medicare-certified home health, Private Duty, and Hospice markets, according to information published in the Federal Register.

Not all home health care organizations seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous on-site survey process are granted accreditation.

CHAP Accreditation demonstrates that Unity 1 Skilled Home Care, Inc. meets the industry’s highest nationally recognized standards. The rigorous evaluation by CHAP focuses on structure and function, quality of services and products, human and financial resources and long term viability. Simply stated, adherence to CHAP’s standards leads to better quality care.

“By achieving CHAP Accreditation, Unity 1 Skilled Home Care, Inc. has shown a commitment to excellence, “ said Barbara McCann, Acting CHAP Vice President, Accreditation. This is the third year Unity 1 Skilled Home Care has achieved CHAP Accreditation, and we are excited to continue our partnership by offering support in its commitment to providing quality care and continuous improvement.”

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Patricia Powell, CEO and Owner of Unity 1 Home Health Care. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that CHAP, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our organization and procedures. It means we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

Unity 1 Skilled Home Care provides a variety of Skilled Nursing Services, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Medical Social Worker, and Home Health Aides services to patients and their families in Scioto, Pike, Lawrence, Adams, and Jackson counties in Southern Ohio. Unity 1 Skilled Home Care, Inc. Was established in 2014 after offering private duty services such as personal care assistance, homemaking, and transportation under its sister company, Unity 1 Home Health Care, LLC since 2004. “Going through the CHAP Accreditation process challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to strive for excellence and to continuously improve the quality of care we provide,” said Lee Ann Bower, RN/Administrator.
