Former Scioto County Fair Queens gathered Aug. 6 at the Scioto County Fairgrounds to share their memories and experiences during their reign.
Many of the queens cited visiting other fairs and representing Scioto County.
Attending queens included Janet Brisker Risner (1959), Lillie Brisker (1968), Tami Crum Boggs (1981), Missy Adams (1988), Heather Coriell Gragg (1996), Heather Marasek Mullins (1997), Sarah Ottens McCullough (2005), Lora Fuhrmann (2009), Abby Fuhrmann (2013), Holly Collett (2014), Kathleen Kuhn (2015) and Jordan Hileman (2016).
“The queens are truly role models for other young ladies. They are leaders in the community as teachers, Sara is a physicians assistant and Tami Crum Boggs owns her own business,” said organizer Robin Hileman.
The queens were asked to submit photos of themselves and many who were not able to attend submitted their photos, the furthest coming from Heather Farris Stat (2004) from Oklahoma.
Current queen, Jordan Hileman says her favorite memory was being able to represent Scioto County at the Ohio State Fair Managers Contest where she received Top 16 of 80 girls. Hileman said she has truly enjoyed her time serving this year.
The Daily Times will be reporting on the 2017 Fair Queens contest this week and results will be announced in the print edition on Aug. 9.
