After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

TODAY’S COMMENTARY

Notice that Jesus begins his ministry with the message of the kingdom of God. A new order has begun. But what does that mean to us? The first thing that we see is repentance, or turning away from old ways of living or thinking. But notice that Jesus tells us to believe the good news. We don’t turn toward a new way of thinking; we turn to God Himself. Surrender leads to transformation, which leads to worship, which leads to a new way of living for God.
