JAMES “FAKEY” EDGAR HAMILTON

NEW BOSTON, Ohio — James “Fakey” Edgar Hamilton, age 86 of New Boston, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Best Care in Wheelersburg. He was born January 22, 1931 in New Boston to Allen and Nannie (Cassidy) Hamilton. Fakey was a 1950 graduate of Glenwood High School where he played basketball. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and as a sanitary worker for the Village of New Boston. In his spare time, he loved to golf, bowl, and was an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He was a sociable man and enjoyed people, including the friends he made during his memberships with the New Boston Kiwanis, Eagles Club, and the James Dickey Post #23, American Legion.

Fakey is survived by his wife, Sharon (Wagner) Hamilton; daughter, Jayme (John) Miller of Sanford, NC; sister, Kay (David) Mills of Wheelersburg; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Hamilton; two sisters, Freda Hamilton and Karen Colegrove.
