With the motto “Cruising for the Community,” The Greenup County Cruisers will host their annual Adam’s Rod Run and Cruise in on Saturday, Aug. 22. Adam’s Rod Run will begin at the Greenup Dam near the AA Hwy and US 23 at 9 a.m.

Members of The Greenup County Cruiser guarantee that participants will experience a pleasant drive through the countryside to Grayson and then return to downtown Greenup for the Cruise In at approximately noon until 5 p.m.

A donation of $10 covers the run and the Cruise In. The sponsored child this year is Jack Cantrell. He is 7 years old and has Cystic Fibrosis. On June 16, 2015, Cantrell had a lung removed in preparation for a lung and liver transplant.

Bud Matheny, a member of the Greenup County Cruisers, is a great organization to support.

“This is another organization I support, The Greenup County Cruisers. This fundraiser is an annual event to help the family of a child with pediatric diseases. Previous years the recipient has been the family of a child with pediatric cancer. This year it is a child with Cystic Fibrosis,” Matheny said. “We will be awarding a Jack’s choice trophy.”

There will be inflatables for the kids and entertainment for participants. An invitation is given to all makes and models of vehicles and motorcycles. Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks and snacks will be served for a donation.

All funds will go to the family to help with expenses traveling to out of area hospitals. For more information call Al Lewis at 606-831-2372.
