The fourth member of one family has been arrested. Earlier in the week the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shirley Steele, 59, of Franklin Furnace, and George Steele, 64, of Franklin Furnace. Both were charged with one count of obstructing official business and were being held without bond. Their son, Matthew Steele, was also arrested after being sought for failure to appear for sentencing in June. He is currently in prison.

Authorities had then concentrated their search for another son, Hank Steele, on the same charge as his parents.

At approximately 2 a.m. Thursday, Hank Steele, age 23, was arrested on a warrant at his residence, 113 Napoleon Lane, in Franklin Furnace. Captain David Hall said Steele was arrested without incident.

Donini said the case began when detectives had spoken with his family about his location and they stated that they did not know where he was and stated that he was not at their residence, 113 Napolean Lane. During the investigation they were able to determine that Matthew Steele had been staying at that location and was at the house during the time the detective had spoken to the family.

On June 25, detectives and deputies responded to that location which resulted in the suspect that was wanted, Matthew Steele, running out the back door into a wooded area. Steele was arrested shortly after hiding in the wooded area behind the house. Charges were presented on the parents and Matthew Steele’s brother Hank for obstructing justice to the Scioto County grand jury.
