Southern Ohio Medical Center is publicly launching a new campaign to raise funds for the renovation and expansion of SOMC Hospice. The campaign, called Transcending Lives, will update the current inpatient center and add four new patient rooms as well as an upgraded kitchen and support areas.
SOMC Hospice has touched the lives of more than 5,000 patients – accounting for nearly 25,000 patient days – and has seen those numbers increase every single year.
“These additions have become necessary due to the program’s rapid growth over the years,” SOMC Director of Community Relations and Development Scott Hilbert said. “SOMC Hospice often operates at full-capacity and patients have to be admitted to the main campus until rooms become available. However, with this renovation and expansion, we’ll have a total of 16 rooms. This will make a meaningful and positive impact on our patients and their families.”
The Transcending Lives campaign is led by a diverse and dedicated team and has the full support of SOMC’s Board of Directors, Development Foundation Board of Directors, executive team, administrative staff and hospice team.
