A Minford couple arrested on drug charges in the vicinity of a juvenile, have both been indicted by a Scioto County grand jury.
Jennifer Lavey, 36, and David Lavey, 41, are charged with endangering children, possessing criminal tools, three counts of trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said at approximately 1:45 p.m., on Jan. 26, with assistance from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office along with the Portsmouth Police Department, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the Lavey residence located at 9275 Ohio Route 139 in Minford.
Detectives said they seized approximately 11 grams of suspected heroin along with additional evidence related to drug trafficking. The Laveys were arrested and charged.
Captain John Murphy of the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office said Scioto County Children Services responded to the scene upon request.
The Laveys were placed in the Scioto County Jail.
