The New Boston Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify a man who reportedly attempted to rob a convenience store over the weekend. The NBPD released a surveillance photo for the Daily Times to share with its readers in hopes someone would recognize the fugitive.

Officers said on Friday, at 11:52 p.m., a male suspect walked into Paps Carryout at 3958 Gallia Street in New Boston and brandished a knife to the cashier employee and demanded money.

At that same time, a vehicle pulled up at the drive-thru window and that apparently caused the suspect to run out of the store before he was able to get any money.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 feet-10 inches to 6 feet in height, weighing around 160 pounds. The witness said the man’s face was unshaven. He was reportedly wearing a camouflage hoody jacket and blue sweat pants.

NBPD Officers responded to the scene and searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No one was hurt in the incident. Anyone with information concerning the robbery can call the New Boston Police Department at 740-456-4109.
