While the i’s are being dotted and the t’s are being crossed, it is a reality that the Glockner Family of Dealerships has just purchased one of the largest dealerships in the tri-state area, Bob Clyse Chevrolet Buick GMC, 904 South Third Street in Ironton, Ohio.

“It is pending GM’s approval,” Tim Glockner said. “We’ve entered into a buy/sell agreement with Bob Clyse. We have agreed to buy. He has agreed to sell and we think it’s going to be a wonderful acquisition for us.”

Glockner said his company is not in unfamiliar territory.

“We’ve known Chevrolet for 103 years,” Glockner said. “It’s a similar sized operation as the stores that we’ve got. This expands our footprint into the Ironton/Ashland (Ky.) market.”

Glockner said the acquisition will become official in about 45 days. but he said there is no doubt the transaction will take place. There is one question that is always utmost in people’s minds when a purchase takes place. and Glockner was ready for that question.

“We’re going to retain all of the employees,” Glockner said.

The Glockner Family of Dealerships is a family-owned company that has been providing transportation and automotive-related services in southern Ohio and northern Kentucky for six generations and now will have a presence in the Ironton/Ashland/Huntington, W.Va., area.

“I’m really really excited about it,” Glockner said.
