LUCASVILLE — Dollar General (DG) will celebrate the opening of its new location at 12331 SR 348 in Lucasville on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 8 a.m., according to a news release from the DG Corporation.
The grand opening of the store will include a host of free prizes and special deals. Dollar General will offer Lucasville residents a convenient new place to shop for everyday essentials at low prices.
Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, is confident the new store will provide shoppers with an unprecedented shopping experience.
“Dollar General is committed to delivering a pleasant shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” Nieser said. “We hope our Lucasville customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”
Steve Lowe, store manager of the new DG, said the location makes shopping convenient for many local residents.
“It seems like the neighborhood is excited. Everybody is glad that we are here, so that they don’t have to drive all the way of six, or seven miles to town to be able to get their milk, eggs, and bread, and the necessities that they need,” Lowe said. “They have been looking forward to Dollar General being here for weeks, months now, and we finally have it put together.”
This particular store is characterized as a Dollar General (DG-16), which means more space and inventory, according to Lowe.
“This is a DG-16, which is an expanded, food store, so we do have more coolers in the freezer area, and more selections in the store,” Lowe said. “It is a little deceiving from the front, but it is so much bigger inside once you get in here.”
The grand opening day will provide the first 50 adult shoppers at the store with a $10 DG gift card, and the first 200 shoppers will receive a DG tote bag, among other giveaways.
Lowe said the store is currently fully staffed, but applications are always accepted. The new DG store hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
