GREENUP, Ky. — The Greenup County Police Department (GCPD), arrested Rollie Pogue, 19, of Mobelry, Mo. on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at approximately 5 p.m. for unlawful conduct involving a 15-year old female juvenile according to Robert Stewart, officer of GCPD.

Stewart told the Daily Times that GCPD received an anonymous tip that Pogue was traveling from Missouri with plans to meet with a 15-year old juvenile that he’d met on the Internet. From the tip, GCPD were able to arrest Pogue at a Marathon Truck Stop in Greenup, Ky.

“We arrested him at the Marathon Truck Stop here in Greenup. This was actually on Friday, October 21st at approximately 5 o’clock in the evening,” Stewart said. “He (Pogue) admitted at that time that he’d come to the area to have sex with this 15-yearold juvenile.”

The main objective of GCPD is to warn parents about their children’s activity on the Internet.

“We want to warn parents of the dangers of social media with their children, and how easy it is for somebody that is not even from around here to gain access to their children and talk to them,” he said. “They need to be aware of all of their children’s activity on the Internet to ensure that they are safe at all times.”

Pogue has been charged with unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the Commonwealth to induce a minor into sexual or prohibited activities. Pogue was transported by GCPD to the Greenup County Detention Center where he currently is lodged.
