Detectives confiscated 115 grams of suspected crystal meth, $1,440 in cash, digital scales and additional evidence of drug trafficking in an arrest Thursday.
At 9:16 p.m., the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force with assistance from officers with the Portsmouth Police Department, stopped a vehicle being driven by Thomas Galloway, 47, of 3422 Gallia Street, New Boston in the 1600 block of Mabert Road in Portsmouth. Galloway had an indictment warrant for his arrest that had been issued by the Common Pleas Court of Adams County, Ohio for felony drug and firearm offenses.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said, during a search incident to arrest, task force detectives and officers seized approximately 115 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, approximately $1,440 cash, digital scales, and additional evidence of drug trafficking.
Galloway was charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of methamphetamine, both felonies of the second degree, and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the fifth degree and was held without bail in the Scioto County Jail.
A case against Galloway will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of additional felony drug-related charges.
