AEP awards Valley $74,512

AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP), is proud to present Valley Local Schools with a check for $74,512 from its business incentive program, which helps businesses purchase and install energy efficient equipment.

In 2014, Valley Local Schools embarked on an energy efficiency campaign, which included upgraded lighting systems in the schools, gymnasiums, maintenance shop and bus garage. Additionally, thermostats in the buildings have been upgraded to wireless and can be controlled from a central location.

“AEP Ohio is happy to assist Valley Local Schools in implementing energy-saving measures that have already resulted in saving more than 567,000 kilowatt-hours,” said Kelly Bussler, AEP Ohio customer service representative.

Since 2009, AEP Ohio has helped customers reduce power usage by 1,697 GWhs, saving more than $1 billion.
