Depugh — Q and A

Staff Report

My name is Dr. Jeremy DePugh and I am an Optometrist practicing at the New Boston Vision Center. I was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and raised in Wheelersburg. I am married to my beautiful wife Chelsea and we have one son together named Easton who is 4 years old.

Having spent the last four years in Columbus I was eager to return home to help serve the community. Scioto County will always be home for me and is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I want to see Scioto County thrive so my son can have the same experience of growing up in such a tight-knit community that always shows support for one another.

How are you involved in the community?

I have been practicing Optometry in New Boston since returning home from The Ohio State University in May of 2016 What achievement are you most proud? Graduating a Buckeye!

Which person has influenced you the most and why?

My Dad Dr. David DePugh. He has been an Optometrist in the area for 33 years.

What was your proudest professional moment?

Providing eye care to the community which I grew up in.

What is your favorite stress buster/leisure time diversion?

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing music, fishing, watching sports and golf.

What gives you reason for optimism in your community?

Seeing all of the new businesses coming into our area as well as the new bypass being built.

If you could go back in time and give advice to yourself, what would it be?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

If you could add a few more hours to the day, how would you spend them?

I would spend them with my Family

Do you live by any mantra or saying?

Not really, but if I had to chose one it would be “don’t worry be happy!”

Career aspirations aside, name one thing you definitely want to accomplish in your community.

Help to improve the the perceived image of the kind and caring people of Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
