The Wheelersburg Band Boosters is hosting a Spring Extravaganza Craft Show on April 1st at Wheelersburg High School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase provided by McManus Catering. Impressive Studios will be there for a limited time taking Spring photos. For a photography appointment, call the studio at 740-354-1400.

Goodwill Industries of Southern Ohio will be hosting a ‘40 Years No Foolin’ Around’ 5k. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and race begins at 10 a.m. Costs are $20 for adults pre-registration, $25 for adults the day of the race, $15 for 12 and under pre-registration and $20 for 12 and under the day of the race. The Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be hosting their annual Hardwood Heroes basketball game at the James A. Rhodes Atheletic Center, 940 2nd Street from noon til 3:30 p.m. This family friendly community event features Scioto County’s Special Olympics athletes taking on area celebrities in a fun game of basketball. Event also features Split the Pot, a half-time shootout for kids hosted by the Shawnee State University basketball team, and raffles. All proceeds go to Scioto County Special Olympics and directly benefit the nearly 100 local athletes who take part throughout the year. Admission is $2.

Dr. Stan Workman will be discussing the history and significance of Bach’s “St Matthew Passion” in an afternoon discussion/Q&A. Dr. Workman is coordinating and conducting the historic performance of the “St Matthew Passion” at Second Presbyterian Church, 801 Waller St. at 6 p.m. on April 14 in conjunction with the Shawnee State University Choir & Chorale. This event is free and open to the public, and will be held in Room 202 at Coffee at the Lofts.
