The Executive Director of the Ohio Arts Council, Donna Collins, presented a commendation from Ohio Senator Joe Uecker during the 75th Annual Scioto County Honors Music Festival on March 7.

The commendation reads, “On behalf of the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to pay tribute to the Scioto County Honors Music Festival on the auspicious occasion of its Seventy-fifth Annual event, March 7, 2017.” It is signed by Sen. Uecker, of Ohio’s 14th District, and Ohio Senate President Sen. Larry Obhof.

Collins presented the commendation to Sharee Price, gifted coordinator for the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center, during the music festival at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, in Portsmouth, Ohio. More than 200 local students and music teachers from Clay, East, Green, Minford, New Boston, Northwest, Oak Hill, Portsmouth, South Webster, Valley, West and Wheelersburg participated in this year’s Music Festival.

“It was an honor to address the amazing crowd of families, staff, and community members at the 75th Annual Honors Music Festival, at the beautiful Vern Riffe Center for the Arts,” Collins said. “Included in my remarks, I had the honor of delivering a commendation from Senator Uecker and President of the Senate Obhof. The students and guest conductors were superb. And, the quality of the delivery of music is a direct result of the professional music educators who teach the students all year long. I will attend again next year!”
