JOB TITLE & COMPANY: Owners of ’83 Sweets Gourmet Cupcake Bakery

WHAT IS YOUR FONDEST COOKING MEMORY? We competed twice on the popular Food Network show, Cupcake Wars. We placed as first runners up in our first appearance, and then followed that show by winning a special mother/daughter episode. That was truly such a fun and memorable experience for us!

WHAT OR WHO INSPIRES YOU TO DO GOOD, AND WHY? Our soul inspiration comes from our mother/grandmother Norma Jean. She taught us to be selfless and give back to the community as much as possible. She was born during the depression and grew up making something out of nothing. She instilled in our family that hard work ethic, while being creative with what you have and using your local resources, will pay off.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THE CELEBRITY CHEF DINNER? We want to be there for our community as much as they have been there for us, as well as helping children build a solid foundation for their future. Just like our Norma Jean taught us- building greatness, one step at a time.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WILL BE MAKING AND IF SO, WHAT IS IT? We are creating the dessert cupcakes for the event, two delicious flavors that we are so excited about- maple bacon and coffee mocha.
