PORTSMOUTH– When Savanna Pendleton graduated from Portsmouth High School in 2019, she might have thought her cheerleading days were over. This year Pendleton is back, recently hired as a Pre-School Teacher at Portsmouth Elementary and the High School Cheerleading Advisor.

Johnson supports resolutions to improve quality of care for veterans

State Sen. Terry Johnson, R-McDermott, heard impassioned testimony on two critical resolutions for our nation’s veterans before the Ohio Senate Veterans and Public Safety Committee. Senate Concurrent Resolution 8 and Senate Concurrent Resolution 9 each received a second hearing where proponents were given the opportunity to speak on the legislation.

Mega loads to go through city, county in March

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer advise there will be traffic delays in the near future. These delays will be for the movement of super and mega sized loads through the county and city. There will be 35 of these movements beginning sometime in March.

Portsmouth Life Center celebrating new era with open house

Big changes are coming to SOMC’s Portsmouth Life Center. The facility is undergoing a major expansion and, on Thursday, February 29, the Life Center will host an open house to showcase the results. It will officially open to the public on March 4.
