The Waverly Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the man they say pulled off a home invasion, believing he may be in or from Scioto County.

Waverly police are investigating a home invasion of an elderly female that occurred on Wednesday, June 18, at approximately 2 p.m. Detective Joe Taylor has also released a photograph of the man they believe to be the assailant. Taylor said the man used a stolen credit card in a Scioto County supermarket and a financial institution, as well as other places.

The male in the photograph has a barbed wire tattoo on his left forearm. He was last seen in Scioto County at 3:30 p.m. on June 18.

“I think that (Scioto County) may be where he’s from,” Taylor said.

Taylor said the suspect is driving a late model Jeep Grand Cherokee that is red with gray trim around the bottom. He said he is hopeful that someone will be able to identify the man and inform authorities as to his identity.

If you have any information on the subject you are asked to contact Detective Joe Taylor at the Waverly Police Department, 740-947-2179
