A well-known Portsmouth physician has been injured in a single-vehicle crash.

The Ohio Highway Patrol reports that at approximately 9:56 a.m. Monday, a 2001 Lexus ES300, driven by Dr. Tsuyoshi Inoshita, 63, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, was traveling southbound on U.S. 23 near milepost 14 in Ross County. Troopers said Inoshita ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a bridge pillar and the guard rail. Inoshita was transported by Med Flight to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. where he was listed in fair condition Monday afternoon.

There were no passengers in the vehicle, and the crash remains under investigation.
