Man arrested for trafficking oxycodone

Authorities have seized 135 pills with a street value of $5,400, and arrested a Portsmouth man in the process.

Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware and Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said around 1:02 p.m. Thursday, the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force executed a narcotics-related search warrant at the residence of Leroy C. Craft Sr. located at 2209 Robinson Ave., Apartment A, in Portsmouth. Officers said upon a search of the residence, Task Force officers seized 135 suspected 30 milligram oxycodone pills with a street value of $5,400, and $1,500 cash.

Craft was arrested and charged with trafficking in oxycodone and possession of oxycodone, which are both a felony of the second degree. Craft was placed in the Scioto County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
