Advance Auto Parts opens, donates to local charity

Advance Auto Parts held a ceremonial ribbon cutting on one of its newest locations Friday morning in Lucasville.

“This is our first location in Lucasville,” said Bobbie Rickett, General Manager of the Lucasville store. “We’re open Monday to Sunday weekly. We’re open Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.”

Rickett said the location offers a full varity of products and services.

“We offer commercial delivery, we do free testing on batteries, alternators and starters both in and out of the store. We also do free wiper blade installation,” Rickett said.

She said the location officially opened on Friday, Dec. 13 with a soft opening.

Rickett said members of the community have been taking notice of the new location and stopping in to see what they have to offer.

As a part of the opening celebration, Advance Auto Parts donated $1,000 to the Scioto and Adams County United Way.

“Half of the funding will go to the Scioto County Homeless Shelter with the other half going to The Counseling Center,”Rickett said. “We felt like these agencies give a lot back to the community and could really use some help right now.”

Mary Ann Miars-Peercy, Executive Director of the Scioto and Adams County United Way said the donation was unexpected and will help a lot of people.

“This is an awesome donation, we we’re not expecting it and it will help our agencies that were here today (Scioto County Homeless Shelter and The Counseling Center) to fulfill their missions in the community.” Miars-Peercy said.
