Two men arrested in F.A.D.E sting operation

FLATWOODS, Ky. — Detectives with the Fivco Area Drug Enforcement (FADE) Task Force are reporting two arrests in connection to one of the largest drug trafficking organizations spanning across the country and ending in Carter County, Ky.

The FADE Task Force operates in the three counties and includes officers from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office and police departments in Flatwoods, Russell, Raceland, Vanceburg and Olive Hill.

According to the Task Force, Scott Gilliam, 42, and Brandon Logan, 28, both of Olive Hill, Ky. were arrested Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, and charged with federal crimes of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone and possession with intent to distribute.

The arrests are part of a nearly two-year undercover sting operation involving the FADE Drug Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal, state and local agencies across the country.

Investigation of the drug trafficking case is ongoing and further charges are pending. Additional arrests in other jurisdictions are continuing to be made.
