Marijuana plants seized and Lucasville man arrested

LUCASVILLE — Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware announce that on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at approximately 3 p.m. members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force along with officers from the Portsmouth Municipal Court Probation Department arrested 49-year-old Lorne “Rocky” Dingess. Dingess was arrested at his residence located at 45 Isaac Rickey Rd. Lucasville on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Portsmouth Municipal Court for violating probation.

According to Sheriff Donini, officers from the Task Force and Probation Department traveled to Dingess’ residence in an attempt to apprehend him. After apprehending Dingess, officers seized several Marijuana plants and criminal tools inside the residence and on the property.

Dingess was placed in the Scioto County Jail and is awaiting a hearing in Portsmouth Municipal Court.

Upon the Marijuana plants being analyzed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation Crime Lab, a case against Dingess will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of drug charges.
