The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office had a short scare around 1:48 p.m. Sunday. That is when they received a call that a man identified as Travis Munion at a house on Ohio 139 was hallucinating and breaking a window. In addition, he was talking about a gun.

A call to the house got a response that Munion was in a bathtub in the bathroom yelling to “call the cops and that he had a gun.” The man who answered the phone said he did not know if Munion had any guns, but he was unsure, and that a deputy should come to the house.

A subsequent call from a man at a house directly across the street said a man was in a house yelling and he was trying to motion for the man to call 911. The man advised he got closer and that is when the man in the house informed him he was being held against his will with a gun.

The man then advised deputies the man was being very quiet and that he was afraid to go and talk with him because he was afraid he would set him off.

Dispatch was then notified by deputies that Portsmouth Ambulance was transporting Munion to the emergency room at Southern Ohio Medical Center for evaluation.

The sheriff’s office did not respond as to whether any charges might be filed against him.
