Five area teams enter the third week of the season with similar 2-0 records.

Valley won its 22nd-straight game Saturday night with a 35-14 victory over Van Buren in a game that was played at Hilliard Bradley High School. Alex Loop had 11 carries for 105 yards and three touchdowns while the Indians’ defense sacked Black Knights quarterback Adam Endicott five times in the victory.

“People don’t realize that (Alex Loop is) our second-fastest player and he gives us a different engine in there,” Valley coach Darren Crabtree said.

Notre Dame exacted revenge on Canal Winchester Harvest Prep after last year’s 34-7 defeat with a 34-0 win over the Warriors, the second shutout win in as many weeks for the Titans. Jack Kayser and Dakota Smith combined for 304 yards on the ground while the Notre Dame defense allowed 101 yards of total offense.

“It was a total team effort by our guys on all three phases,” Titans coach Bob Ashley said.

Wheelersburg defeated Coal Grove 39-20, Minford shut out Columbus Grandview Heights 34-0 and Oak Hill took care of Alexander 32-7 during Friday’s action to remain unbeaten.
