New Boston Youth Soccer Registration
Children, ages 3-14, may register to play in the New Boston Youth Soccer Association, Saturday June 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at the New Boston Little League Park. Fees are $30 for the first child, $50 for the second child and $65 for three or more children. For further information, contact League President Kevin McQuithy at 250-8101.
American Legion Post 23 Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2013 American Legion Post 23 baseball team will take place at 5 p.m. May 25-26 at the Wheelersburg High School field.
Prospective players must attend at least one session and should try to attend all tryouts. Players who are a part of a team that is still in the OHSAA tournament cannot participate in tryouts but should attend one tryout session to register.
The tryouts are for the Junior team for players ages 17 and under and the Senior team for ages 19 and under. Junior players cannot turn 18 and Senior players cannot turn 20 before Dec. 31.
This year, the Senior team has a 48-game schedule while the Juniors have close to 30 planned. High school coaches are encouraged to attend to help with evaluations. For more information, email coach Jack Branon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Greenup County Habitat for Humanity will be hosting its fourth annual golf scramble at Oaks Golf Course in Flatwoods, Ky., Saturday May 18. Harvest Christian 5K/Mile walk
Harvest Christian will hold its inaugural Warrior 5K and one mile walk at 9 a.m. June 1 along the same course as the Bear Run. Registration is $25.

Northwest Boys Basketball Camp
The Northwest boys basketball coaching staff will conduct its annual summer camp May 28-31 at Northwest High School.
Camp will go from 9-11:30 a.m. for boys entering grades 3-6 this fall, while boys entering grades 7-12 will have camp from 12:30-3 p.m. Registration is $20.

The West coaching staff will be holding a basketball camp this summer for boys entering grades four through nine on June 10-12 at the high school from 9 a.m.-noon. South Webster Boys Basketball Camp
The South Webster High School basketball camp for grades 2-9 will take place June 3-5. This camp will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the South Webster High School Gymnasium.
The cost is $30 per camper and each participant will receive a t-shirt and daily beverage. Campers will also receive intense instruction in the fundamentals of the game: footwork, defense, rebounding, finishing at the basket and ball handling. South Webster High School basketball players and coaches will push campers through drills and competitions to improve basic skills.

South Webster Little Lady Jeeps Basketball Camp
Little Lady Jeeps Basketball Camp will be held on June 3-5 from noon to 3:00 p.m. The camp will be held in the South Webster High School Gymnasium. The cost will be $25 for each child. Players can register the day of the camp and each child will receive a t-shirt.

Ryan and Tom’s Tennis Camp
The 23rd annual Ryan and Tom’s Tennis Camp will be held June 3-5 at Mound Park in Portsmouth. Ages 11-17 will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and cost $85. West Sports Complex Summer Shootout League

Bull Riding Classes
Slant Seven Bull Riding, in conjunction with the Hedeman Bull Riding Schools, will hold bull riding classes from June 7-9 at the Woodland Alters Resort in Peebles.

Notre Dame Boys Basketball Camp
The Notre Dame boys basketball program will host two sessions of a summer camp June 11-12 at the NDHS gymnasium.
Session I will be for boys entering grades three through five from 9 a.m.-noon. Session II for boys entering grades six through eight will run from 1-4 p.m. Campers will need to be dressed in basketball attire and are encouraged to have a physical within the past year.

Minford Boys/Girls Basketball Camp
The coaches for the Minford boys and girls varsity program will conduct a three day camp from 9 a.m.-noon June 10, 11, 13 and 14 for boys and girls in grades K through eight.
Registration fee is $30 and each camper will receive a T-shirt. Registration will take place 30 minutes prior to the start of camp.

The Athens Sandlot softball league will host two girls fast pitch softball tournaments for girls ages 8-12. 31st annual Tri-State Junior Golf Tour
The 31st annual Tri-State Junior Golf Tour (TSJGT) begins the first week of June.
The TSJGT is played on area courses in Ashland, Huntington, Greenup and Portsmouth. Check your local courses for entry forms and schedule.

Portsmouth JH Shootout
The Portsmouth Boys Basketball Program will host a boys and girls junior high tournament June 15.
Each team will be guaranteed three games as teams will have pool play then participate in a single-elimination tournament. Games will be officiated by licensed high school officials.

Blue and Gold Swimming Camp
Notre Dame is hosting the Blue and Gold Swimming Camp from Noon-5 p.m. June 17-21 at SSU’s Warsaw Natatorium.
The camp is for individuals entering fifth through 12th grade. A $120 fee will be for each swimmer and $180 covers two swimmers per family.
This is a competitive camp that will help teach all four types of strokes as well as starts and turns. Lunches will be provided each day and campers will get a T-shirt for participating.
Campers will need to bring appropriate swimwear, goggles, towel, water bottle and a signed emergency treatment/medical history consent form that will be available at registration. Lifeguards will be on duty throughout the camp and coaches will instruct groups that have been separated by aged and skill level.

WPYSC Team Summer Basketball League
There will be a team summer basketball league that goes from June 1-July 28 at the West Portsmouth Youth Sports Complex.

Portsmouth West Varsity High School Soccer
Portsmouth West varsity high school soccer teams will be hosting a camp for any area student grades 3-8 at Portsmouth West soccer field.. The camp will be held May 29, 30 and 31. Students entering 3rd-5th grade will take place 8-10 a.m. and 6th-8th grade will be 10:15-12:15 p.m. Cost is $30 per student (cash or check only). Checks can be made out to PW High School Soccer. The cost includes a camp t-shirt. Registration forms are available at any of the Portsmouth West schools.
