Drug arrest made after traffic stop

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini reports that a traffic stop on State Route 104 in West Portsmouth Thursday led to the arrest of a West Portsmouth man.

According to Sheriff Donini, upon receiving complaints in the West Portsmouth area of suspected drug activity, Washington Township Community Policing Deputy Kyle Porter initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Timothy L. Cooper, 33, of age of 8792 Careys Run West Portsmouth.

After completion of the search of the vehicle, Cooper was arrested and charged with Possesion of Oxycodone, Possession of Suboxone, and tampering with evidence. Cooper appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court Friday.
