Deputies from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Sunday evening on Jacobs Cemetery Road in Lucasville on a report that a child had been bitten in the face by a dog.

According to reporting officer Charles Wilson, “Grandfather Jackie Alley and grandson Joshua had just returned home to 198 Jacobs Cemetery Rd., Lucasville. Around 4:30 p.m. Jack was feeding the dogs scraps of table food (beans) when Josh was bitten by the dog. The dog named King was a mix large yellow and grey dog. (Who) they (the family) had from when he was a pup.”

As a result of the injuries Joshua was life flighted to a Huntington hospital for treatment.

“Josh was life flighted but stable, with bite marks to face and head. Jack shot the dog before I or the dog warden arrived,” Wilson said.

Cabell Huntington Hospital is reporting Alley to be in good condition as of Monday afternoon.
