The Greenup County Sheriff’s Office reports one man critically injured after being stabbed, and another charged in that incident.

According to deputies, Reece Frasure, Sr., 50, of South Shore, Kentucky is charged with assault in the stabbing of Michael Gillespie, of Lewis County, Kentucky.

“Mr. Gillespie is in critical condition at St. Mary’s Hospital,” a Greenup County Sheriff’s spokesman told the Daily Times.

The Greenup County Sheriff says Frasure and Gillespie were involved in an altercation at Frasure’s home on Micah’s Walk Road about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Greenup County Sheriff Keith Cooper said that is when Frasure pulled out a steak knife and stabbed Gillespie in the chest.

Frasure was incarcerated in the Greenup County Jail on a charge of first degree assault. His bond was set at $100,000.
