A Scioto County woman will face a charge of felony theft after authorities say she stole several items including checks.
Arrested was Ashlee Week Baldwin, 22, of Carver Road in Franklin Furnace. She has been charged with one count of felony theft, a felony of the 5th degree. Baldwin was held on a $2,500 bond.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office received a call from a Junior Furnace man on Oct. 25, 2012, who told them somebody had stolen several items, including three checks from his checkbook.
A deputy responded to that location where a report was filed and forwarded to a detective for an investigation. During the investigation, detectives were able to obtain copies of the checks and video from the bank.
Donini said on Tuesday detectives were able to get a location on the suspect and she was detained and brought into the office for questioning which resulted in her arrest.
Donini said the case is part of an ongoing investigation which could result in more charges being presented to the Scioto County grand jury on a later date.
He said anyone with any information concerning the theft is being requested to contact Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091. He said all calls will remain anonymous.
