It was announced Monday that Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) has been chosen as a 2012 Press Ganey Distinctive Workplace Award winner.

According to the local medical center, “SOMC is one of only 13 Press Ganey clients in the nation to receive this prestigious honor, which is given to organizations that have reached and sustained the 95th percentile in employee satisfaction scores for two consecutive reporting periods. SOMC currently stands at the 99th percentile for employee satisfaction.”

According to the Press Ganey website, at www.pressganey.com, “Press Ganey has always been in the business of helping providers improve the delivery of health care. We began with the idea that patients had a valuable perspective to offer regarding the quality of care they received and worked to ensure that the voices of these patients were heard by health care organizations looking at ways to evaluate and improve quality of care. Successful organizations know that one of their most valuable resources for delivering superior care is dedicated employees. True partnership between employer and employee is a win-win-win, resulting in quality improvements that benefit patients, staff and operational outcomes.

This award recognizes clients who have reached and sustained the 95th percentile on their employee surveys for two consecutive reporting periods that are not more than 24 months apart.”

“Without the dedication and high-level of quality our staff provide every day, we would not be considered for such designations,” SOMC President and CEO Randy Arnett said. “We are proud of our team of experts at SOMC and are extremely proud to offer the best quality care to the people of our community.

SOMC has received the Distinctive Workplace Award twice, has appeared on FORTUNE Magazines 100 Best Companies to Work For and numerous other awards.
