Hit-Skip incident reported by OSHP

A Portsmouth man was sent to the hospital Tuesday evening after being the victim of a hit skip incident.

In a release submitted by the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Roger M. Gallimore, 70, was walking northbound on Carey’s Run Pond Creek Road near Pond Creek Road when he was struck by a dark grey or black sports utility vehicle. Gallimore was found in a nearby ditch and sent to Southern Ohio Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

According to eyewitness reports, damage to the vehicle was sustained on the passenger’s side. Reports that a blonde female in her late 20s to early 30s was behind the wheel.

The crash is still under investigation and according to a spokesman with the post, more information will be released around 3 p.m. Wednesday. All information regarding the incident is welcomed.
