Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day when they make arrests, but it is rare that they are confronted by and sword and a hand gun, but that is what Pike County deputies ran into when they were dispatched to 20493 Ohio 772 in reference to a threats complaint.
Pike County Sheriff Richard N. Henderson said when deputies arrived at that address, they were advised that Larry Joe Dale, 61, the occupant of the house, was armed with a sword and a hand gun. Henderson said deputies were able to secure the suspect and weapons without incident.
While on the scene, deputies were advised a clandestine methamphetamine lab was located in the home. Deputies checked the premises and located a meth lab on the back porch.
Dale was taken into custody and charged with illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine, illegal manufacture of drugs, having weapons under disability, domestic violence and aggravated menacing.
