Josephine Holsinger Saunders, 81
Josephine (Holsinger) Saunders, age 81, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012. She was born in Pike County on May 20, 1931, to the late William and Anna Holsinger. She was preceded in death by her sisters Louise Cummings and Joyce Strehle. Josephine is survived by her sister Ruth Wilkins, Petersburg, Va., her brothers William Holsinger, Lucasville, Ohio, Delbert Holsinger, Pickerington, Ohio, James Holsinger, Givens, Ohio and Timothy Holsinger, Valley Station, Ky. Children JoEllen Johnston, Logan, Ohio, Karen Scowden, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Pamela Crabtree, Aylett, Va., LTC James R. Saunders Mason, Ohio, David Saunders, Lancaster, Ohio, and J Michael Saunders, Chillicothe, Ohio. Josephine was grandmother to 18 and great-grandmother to 14 with more on the way.
She was a veteran of the Women’s Army Corps and had a career with Alcoa Aluminum. Josephine was a beloved mother and grandmother, an avid gardener, an amateur genealogist, and a long time member of the Local Board of Elections.
A Celebration of Life Service with friends and family will be held at 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the American Legion 201 James Rd. Waverly Ohio. 45690.
