Task Force disrupts heroin trafficking operation

Combined efforts by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, the Portsmouth Poilice Department and other members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, have resulted in three arrests and confiscation of a large quantity of heroin and cocaine.

Detectives arrested Antonio L. Spikes, 23, of 1042 Seton Ave. Cincinnati, Antwon L. Criswell, 31, of 4914 Wesley Ave. Cincinnati, and Desmond A. Jenkins, 24, of 3097 Westwood Moreland Blvd. Cincinnati. Each is charged with two counts of possession of drugs, both felonies of the 1st degree, and placed in the Scioto County Jail on $40,000 bond.

According to Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Chief Robert Ware, Task Force detectives conducted a “high risk” traffic stop of a vehicle on U.S. 52 East in West Portsmouth at around 8:00 p.m. Upon a search of the vehicle, detectives seized approximately 160 grams of suspected heroin and approximately 75 grams of suspected crack cocaine, which detectives believe were heading for Portsmouth and Scioto County.

Cases against Spikes, Criswell, and Jenkins will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional criminal charges.
