Jane Kessinger, 64
Jane Pellegrinon Kessinger (Janie), 64, of Cincinnati, went to be with the Lord Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2012, at Hospice of Cincinnati, with her family by her side. She was born May 10, 1948, in Portsmouth to the late Arthur J. and Ruth R. (Hartlage) Pellegrinon.
Janie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth and attended Eastern Kentucky University. She is a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Cincinnati and was a retired secretary from the Wyoming City School District with 25 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a younger sister, Laura Saunders, who died in 2009.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Thomas A. Kessinger, whom she married on Dec. 28, 1968, in Portsmouth at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Also surviving are her two daughters; Amy K Chelman (Scott) of Mason, Ohio and Ann Marie Kessinger of Arlington, Va., and her three grandchildren –Will, Sam and Mary Grace – whom she loved very much. She is also survived by her sister Emma Lou Jenkins (Jerry) of Portsmouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for noon on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Cincinnati (Springfield Township, 9375 Winton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231) with Father Patrick Welsh officiating. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Greenlawn Cemetery (St. Mary section) in Portsmouth.
Friends may call at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. - until noon.
