Hubert Virgil Crabtree, 92, of Lucasville, died Sept. 10, 2012 at SOMC Hospice.
He was born Sept. 6, 1920 in McDermott a son of the late Elijah and Nancy Crabtree.
Hubert was a retired Laborer for Columbus Malleable and a former General Motors employee. He was a 1939 McDermott High School graduate and a member of Christ’s Restoration Branch Church.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda Crabtree, Eula Adkins, Twila (Gary) Stump all of Lucasville, Norma (Robert) Lee of Morral, OH; five sons, Doug Hudson of Lucasville, Randy (Pam) Crabtree of Clarksville, Tenn., Mike (Diane) Crabtree of Lucasville, Oran (Renauta) Crabtree of Lucasville, and Keith (Gail) Crabtree of Lucasville; 24 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law Linda Crabtree of Portsmouth.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Avril Tharlene Swords Crabtree, Aug. 19, 2004; two sons, Danny Crabtree and David Crabtree; one granddaughter; six brothers Lowell, Lloyd, Alma, Francis, Roy Crabtree and Everett Meadows; and four sisters Anice Crabtree, Sarah Ellen Copas, Thelma Jordan, and Ora Lee Sargent.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Thursday, Sept. 14, 2012 at the Christ’s Restoration Branch Church on Pine Lane with Mike Chaffin and Don Mottashed officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and an hour before the funeral Thursday at the Church.
